“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High [or God]; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” Luke 6:35-36 NASB.
The words of Jesus here pretty much says it all, for God is kind to the unkind, the ungrateful, and bad people! How wonderful God is! He doesn’t just love you if you love Him in return! He loves all of humanity, His creation, and is doing is best to help them, if only they would accept all of His help that He wants to give them! But for the grace of God in our lives, we would all be unkind, ungrateful and bad people.
“They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Psalm 14:3 KJV.
“God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Psalm 53:2-3 KJV.
Speaking of God’s people, the scriptures say: ‘The best of them is like a briar, the most upright like a thorn hedge.’ Micah 7:4 NASB.
Not one of us are good, and our only hope of escaping the sin that is enslaving us, making us bad, is the kind help that God will give us if we will only take it!
We need to think on this more and more! God is so kind to us, more than we will ever deserve, for none of us are good. If God wasn’t kind to the unkind, ungrateful and bad people, we would have no hope, because this is what we are without Him!
Is God’s love stirring your heart now? If it is, give your heart to Him now, and ask Him to forgive you for all the times you spoke unkind words to someone, or did unkind things to them, or were ungrateful to Him for all of His blessings that you enjoy in life, or for His forgiveness and mercy. How can you not love Him? God deserves your love, affection and devotion doesn’t He? Give Him your heart, and ask Him for help to be kind and merciful to yourself and others, and He will be happy to give you a new heart, a heart to love Him and others with! And then your joy will know no bounds! It will be in you a well of water springing up into eternal life! Amen!
